About the Author

Wendy attended college at Eastern Illinois University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Personnel Management and Master’s in Business Administration. She entered the financial industry in an entry-level position at Minnesota’s largest credit union and then joined a large financial planning company in 1994. She became a financial advisor in 1996 and obtained her Certified Financial Planner designation in 2002. Wendy runs an active financial planning practice and loves to spend her time helping people teach their kids fun and valuable lessons about money. She has been a Twin Cities FIVE STAR Wealth Manager award winner for seven years.

In 2014, Wendy published her first book “MoneyBags: A Guide to Teach Your Kids About Money” to follow her passion in breaking the cycle of poor money management being passed down through generations.Wendy’s unique perspective comes from a long line of entrepreneurs in her family. Her great grandfather owned a monument company, her grandfather owned a little restaurant/ice cream shop, her father had a small chain of clothing stores, and she owns a financial planning franchise. Wendy’s exposure to business and money at such an early age gave her a unique perspective when it comes to understanding how money works and now she wants to pass this knowledge to others.
